Method 2:
In the Picture Editing Workspace, we add a new feature section for tether shooting. Click on the Tether Shooting Feature Section, to enter the tether shooting.
Currently, tether shooting only supports picture taking, and the camera information is only present, and cannot be adjusted.
You can click on the Icon to trigger the camera and take the picture.
If you need to apply an effect to your picture, you can choose

While you are at the tether shooting, you can select between two different preview modes:

Only text content from the clipboard is supported; image recognition is not available.
Notification for the picture naming.
You cannot use the following symbols while naming the picture: ‘;’、‘:’、‘^’、‘*’、‘<’、‘>’、‘?’、‘|’
If you have used the listed symbols, you will not be able to name the file
Click on the saved address to select the location for your original picture to be saved after you have triggered the shutter.
The pictures that have been post-produced by Evoto will still need to be selected in the file export location while exporting.
Currently, Evoto uses the automatically connect method, and users do not need to manually click on the tether connection for the Tether Shooting Feature Section. Once the connection line has been connected to the camera and the computer, it will automatically connect and activate the tether shooting.
You can click on disconnect to disconnect to the camera from Evoto.
Some cameras will require the user to select the connection method on the camera side to successfully connect.
Under the Evoto Settings -> Preferences -> For Tethered Shootings, you can select whether to allow Evoto to automatically connect to the camera for tether shooting.
We suggest you turn your camera setting to Does not turn OFF, because if your camera has turned off automatically, Evoto will also be disconnected from your computer, and you will need to reconnect the USB cable for the tether to be active again.
For each brand of camera, there is also different camera settings. Please based on your camera brand, and reference to the corresponding camera setting.
Automatically connection failed
After several attempts to automatically connect, and result in fail connection all the time, we will switch the connection to the manual entrance, and disable the auto connection. Users will use the manual entrance to connect the tether shooting manually.
In the meanwhile, users can also disconnect the tether line from the desktop physically, and reconnect it again. Evoto will try the automatic connection after the physical reconnection.
The following reasons might cause your connection to fail:
The current camera type is not supported by the tethered shooting in Evoto, please refer to the camera checklist: Tether Shooting Supported Camera Model. If your camera is not been supported as listed in the checklist, you can contact support@evoto.ai, and we will update it as soon as possible.
You have already connected the tether shooting using other software, and please close the conflicting software;
Camera connection issue: your camera might be disabled for connection due to multiple reasons. Please try to unplug the Camera, take out the battery from the camera, then install the battery, restart the camera again, and try to reconnect the camera for tether shooting.
The tether connection line might be unstable for transmission, and if you are using an adapter hub it will also affect the tether connection. You can switch to a different tether connection line, or change an adapter hub (either use a connection line to directly connect to the computer since some adapter hubs do not support data transmission, or make sure the adapter hub has OTG approval)
If you have opened software such as, "Photos", "Image Capture", "Image Preview", or other software that occupies the camera device, it will also cause the tether connection to fail. Closing such software will allow the tether shooting to be automatically connected again.
If you have any other questions regarding the tether connection, please contact for a detailed solution, or you can contact us through customer service inside of the Evoto software.
