Importing

Importing LR catalog

For Evoto supports for Lightroom Catalog import. This will allow Evoto users to quickly synchronize the rendered images between Evoto and Lightroom

How to import .lrcat project?

You can directly drag and drop the .lrcat file to create a project in Evoto, or you could create a new project for .lrcat.

Once you have import the .lrcat file that you would like to import, you can select based on you need for the file you would like to import into Evoto.

It can be collections, or you can use the different filter you have already created in .lrcat file and choose to import it into Evoto .lrcat project.

If you are in the project page, you will be able to see which project is a lrcat project.

While you importing the .lrcat file into Evoto, you will see the selection for “Import the original image“.

Only select this if you save the original image of your .lrcat at an extension drive.

( 🆕 version 3.7 🆕 ) Support Right-Click to Open in Evoto

With the ability to support right-click to open, users can select the desired range to import and open the images into Evoto by right-clicking. Additionally, using the right-click to open option in Lightroom or other color grading software ensures that the image's colors remain consistent with those in LR.

New Methods to Import Images into Evoto:

Right-Click in File Manager: Right-click on a supported image format in your system file manager to import it into Evoto.
Drag and Drop: Drag supported image formats onto the Evoto icon (note: not supported on Windows taskbar).
Right-Click in other software: Right-click on an image in other software to edit in Evoto.

Not recommended for importing more than 50 images at once

New Non-RAW Original Replacement Feature

Export Non-RAW Replacements: Exported images support non-RAW replacement.
Export Original .lrcat Support for Non-RAW Replacement: Original Lightroom catalog (.lrcat) exports support non-RAW replacement.

When replacing non-RAW originals, Evoto will automatically back up the original images to allow users to make further adjustments and restore images within Evoto at any time.

Exporting

While you export the images, you can choose to export the image using custom settings.

We have introduced new settings and made UI improvements to address the issue of finding advanced export settings.

Exporting LR catalog

Currently, Evoto does not support you to directly create a lrcat project. You will need to import the .lrcat project in order to export it as a .lrcat file.

For the catalog export, you can select different export methods.

Export Back to Original Image Location and Add Stack in LR

Guidance for Damaged Original .lrcat: If users encounter issues with a damaged original .lrcat, they can be guided to the .lrcat file directory to recover using the Evoto backup.

Specific folder

Create a new LR catalog file, which includes the .lrcat data source file, and the final edited picture. This will allow user to open/combine in LR using this new .lrcat file.

While using this .lrcat file and combine in LR with the original file, the edited image will be imported as a new image in the LR catalog. The original image will applied with the Evoto adjust parameter.

Desktop

Same as the previous, just save the new .lrcat file on the Desktop.

A non-RAW image will replace the existing file.

Only available if your original image is not a RAW image. Select this feature will allow you to export the edited image, and replace this edited Evoto image to the original non-RAW image while exporting back to LightRoom.

Export original image.

This will allow the export catalog to include the original image and the edited image.

Color Parameter Sync Option in Import Catalog: A new checkbox for synchronizing color parameters is added to the import dialog. Users need to check this box to import color adjustments from LR.
Color Parameter Sync Option in Export Catalog: A new checkbox for exporting color parameters is added to the export catalog options. Users need to check this box to export color adjustments from Evoto.

Custom Setting

Export Location

You can choose to export your file to a different location. In Evoto, we provide you with three different paths to choose from.

Export to

Folder of the Original Photo – the edited picture will placed in the same folder as the original photo.

Designated Folder – select a folder where you would like the edited picture to be located. You can change the folder by changing the path.

Desktop – edited picture will be saved to the desktop

Automatically create Subfolder

You can enable the selection to save the edited picture under your selected file, with a new folder named by you. Disabling the selection will let your edited picture export to the exact file location of your selection.

Name File

User can now name their edited picture while exporting the picture! Evoto provides four different name formats.

Please note that the Example which showing for you with the export file name is just a sample, it will not be the final file name for your export image.

Method 1 – Original Filename

The default for the user to select, the export file will have the same name as the original file.

Method 2 – Custom Filename (# of #)

Select the custom filename, which will allow you to rename the picture that you selected to export.

You can also edit the number followed by the file name, and that number will increment as the number of selected pictures.

Method 3 – Capture Date - Original Filename

Selecting the capture date w/ the original filename will allow you to add the capture date of the picture in front of the original filename

Method 4 – Custom Filename - Sequence

Selecting the custom filename w/ sequence will allow you to rename the picture and follow with the number you have entered. If you have multiple pictures for export, it will increment the number based on the number you have put in.

Method 5 - Original File Name - Custom Text

The Original File Name - Custom Text name method allow you to have more selection on outputting the file name, you can not add text to the end of your export image.

Advanced Settings

Image Format

The picture supports the export as default, jpg, or tiff (8 bits / 16 bits).

Quality

Quality setting is only available for JPG export images.

Limit File Size to

Users can now export the image file based on the size they have entered.

Please note the final file might not be the same as the input size setting you have entered. The algorithm will try to compress the image to get as close as possible to the number you have input.

Percentage

In 3.5.0 version, Evoto changed the image quality settings from 14 levels to percentage settings, where you can now adjust your export the image as percentage as you preferred.

Please note if you input a percentage is too low, the image will be exported at a minimum of 20% quality.

Color Space

Selecting the sRGB. sRGB is a standardized RGB color space, which is commonly used as standard color space. sRGB has some limitations and standardized regulations on color range and color representation to ensure consistency in colors displayed on different devices and platforms. sRGB is commonly used in images on display devices and on the Internet to ensure that the colors of the image appear consistently across different devices.
